IRTG

Integrated Research Training Group

Abstract:

The Integrated Research Training Group (IRTG) provides a training program on molecular and cellular mechanisms of immune privilege. All students funded by CRC 1292 are trained within this structured, interdisciplinary and mentor-based program. To connect basic research with medicine, association of physicians actively performing research in the field is highly encouraged. Training elements in molecular and cellular immunology, imaging techniques, histology and immunohistochemistry, advanced cell sorting, mass spectrometry etc. are offered. Particular emphasis are placed on translational aspects of the research, i.e. natural scientists are offered courses on basic elements of human disease and requirements for drug development into clinical applications, whereas MD students obtain insights into fundamental research elements.
